Today is April 1st, but we also welcome this new month for being #StressAwarenessMonth

Mental Health is critically important to your overall health, and heart disease prevention and treatment. Your mental wellbeing can both positively and negatively impact your physical health and risk factors for stroke and heart disease.

Why does it matter? Because stress LITERALLY kills. Not only are people with higher stress levels more likely to die from heart disease and stroke, but stress is linked to anxiety disorders and depression! It can also cause problems like sleep disruption, headaches, gut discomfort and appetite changes.

Here are some helpful tips, in collaboration with the American Heart Association, for how you can fight stress and focus on your physical and mental health 🧘🏾‍♀️

God, Thank you for keeping me!

I had big plans for 2023, and God had even BIGGER ones. I knew this year would be one of major sacrifice and growth, but I had no idea what exactly that would look like.

Cause see I always said I was a woman of faith. It’s a whole different story to keep that faith in him while in the midst of trial. Experiencing life transitions, months of unemployment, a complete career change, starting a new business venture… in the middle of it all, my faith never wavered. I got deeper in my Word and relationship with God knowing that his plan would satisfy everything HE KNEW I needed.

My biggest prayer this year was that God would heal my heart, ease my spirit and grow my mind. And, he allowed me to experience a genuine love with someone. A restoring love. A love from a man with a strong heart but gentle spirit. Never expected to become a girlfriend and now fiancée in the same year!! 😭

I’m Excited to enter a new year of continued faith, love and blessings. Wishing you all the same in 2024🩷 Happy Holidays!

This past weekend I was invited to speak on two pa

This past weekend I was invited to speak on two panels to a group of teen girls about overcoming the pressures of social media, mental health and knowing your self-worth. Huge Thank you to my sister @chanaechristiana for inviting me and allowing me to speak on these panels! And Thank You to The Vernon Family Foundation and @metrohealthcle for putting together such a dope event.

I created beMORE as a platform to encourage young girls and women to create their own standards of beauty. To self-generate their own identities. To push the envelope and be different. I created beMORE to talk about the mental health struggles, we as girls and women go thru just to find ourselves! To create community around women living in their most authentic and beautiful selves.

To see the impact I had on these young girls by sharing my own experiences and journey, was confirmation from God that I’m EXACTLY where I should be!

The most fulfilling moment for me was meeting a 12-year old girl named Madison who came up to me with her mom and shared that they enjoyed listening to the LTMH podcast! And that, is why I do what I do. To be a voice for girls and women who often feel misplaced in a misguided world - something I wish I had at 12 years old.

My personal note to self: Keep doing what you doing. It might not make sense to others, it might not be what’s always appreciated by others. But you have a story and a light that should always be shared. I’ll continue to say that if I inspire ONE person from my own story, God’s purpose has been fulfilled over my life 🤍

In a world based on instant gratification and “copycat” behavior, I will always enter every room as my purest and authentic self.
