5 Must-Have Apps for New Bloggers

While I myself am new to the blogging world, I wanted to put together something helpful for any new up-in-coming bloggers. Believe me when I say, blogging is not easy. There’s so much information that starting out can be nerve-wrecking!

I’m only 3 months into my blog journey, and while I have yet to tackle this beast of an industry, I wanted to share the apps I use to help manage productivity.

I really think you’ll enjoy these applications – whether your new to blogging, an experienced blogger or just want more information! Again, all of the apps listed below I myself use. I am not going to recommend something I have never tried or barely use.

I use these apps to help manage and create content on my blog website and social media. So let’s begin!

First Things First…

(Ulysses – The ultimate writing app) This is what I use to type and draft all of my blog posts. To help with organization, you can create folders for all of your blog posts. For example, I have a folder titled “completed projects” and “drafted projects” – this way I know what’s finished and what I’m still editing. But what I LOVE about this app is that it allows you to format your blog posts directly in the app! You can add your featured image and keywords. So when it comes time to upload your blog post, all you have to do is copy/upload the drafted post right into your website. Now, to have full access of Ulysses it does cost. I was able to apply a student discount so I believe it was $10 for the whole year.

(UNUM – Photo & Video Editor app) This app is great for creators and branding. I don’t utilize all of the functions on this app, just 2. Again, this is a photo & video editor app so it’s great for just that! You can adjust the color, brightness, exposure, all of that! But the main reason I use it for is to plan out my social media feed. With UNUM, you can upload and re-arrange the content on your Instagram profile before actually posting it.

(Planoly – Plan, Schedule, Post) Now this is my go-to! This app simplifies social marketing. I use this as a planner for what I post on social media. You can plan out your stories and posts using this app. I like because it allows me to plan out content WEEKS in advance! Once you upload your picture, add a caption, create hashtags and then schedule when you want it posted. It’s that simple – no more forgetting when or what time to post.

(Unfold – Stories Editor & Collage Maker) I use this app when I want to create fun templates for my Instagram stories. It allows you to customize your stories with stickers, fun backgrounds and cool texts. I’ve only used this app a couple of times, but it is definitely something I’m going to start using more of!

(Adobe Lightroom – Photography Editing & Presets) – This is the HOLY GRAIL to picture editing. I edit all of my pictures thru lightroom. Now it is a little more on the advanced side, because it is used for true photography editing. But I love it! You will need an Adobe subscription to access all of the features but it is well worth the investment. I definitely recommend buying an Adobe subscription, watching a couple YouTube videos and watch your pictures come to life.

Let me know if there are any other apps you might use for blogging/ digital content. Again, I’m new to the blogging “world” but hopefully I gave you insight on a new app that may help your journey!
